Course Description

This course contains 5 lessons that describe each part of a typical day of a man. Follow Jeff as he gets up in the morning, gets ready for work, drives to work, works in the office, goes to the market, returns home, does household chores, and goes to bed.

In each lesson, you’ll learn common and useful vocabulary for everyday things and situations.

Course Length (Part 2) -- 2.5 hours (1.75 hours video + text lessons)


Lessons Included

Lesson 1 – At the Office

Arriving at work, Jeff checks his agenda when he gets to his desk. Follow him through his day and learn some English related to answering emails, making phone calls, meeting with a boss, taking a break, and being part of a conference call. Like most people, Jeff also likes to talk to his co-workers in the break room. Watch him take it easy on casual Fridays and go out to eat as well!

Lesson 2 – Running Errands

Jeff's day at work is now over, so watch him leave work and run some important errands on his way home. You'll learn vocabulary in English related to driving a car and going to a grocery store. Find out how to use terms such as fridge, market, checkout stands, cashier, bagger, cart, and to load up. Why is Jeff going to the store on his way home? Tonight he has to cook for his wife!

Lesson 3 – Making Dinner

It's cooking time! Jeff gets home and prepares to cook. Learn all about the words we use for cooking, including how to use vocabulary such as counter, groceries, preheat, bake, burner, boiling, chopping, and stirring. You'll also see how to describe setting a table in English, along with words related putting extra food away after your meal (Jeff hates to waste anything!).

Lesson 4 – Relaxing

Dinner is now over, so Jeff is going to do a little relaxing for the evening. He likes to watch television, while his wife is a big mystery novel reader. But wait! Jeff still have a few things to do around the house before the evening is over. Learn how we talk about reading the mail, including how to use terms like junk mail, flyer, and bills. Watch Jeff take out the trash so its ready for pickup.

Lesson 5 – Going to Bed

After a long day of working, Jeff is ready to go to bed. Learn to describe daily vocabulary such as cleaning up at night, getting undressed, and preparing the bed for sleeping. You'll discover the meaning of terms such as to pull back, covers, to fluff, overhead light, hamper, to count sheep, to fall asleep, and to nod off.
